Petra and Wadi Rum

Over the past couple of days, we have been out in our hire car exploring Petra and Wadi Rum. First in Petra we got to explore some of the rock formations and the carved out rocks. It was very busy and crowded there. In fact, I enjoyed Wadi Rum more because of the silence. What Jenelle and I liked the most about Petra was the photos in front of the treasury because we were both allowed on separate camels while Mum and Dad took their pictures of us. One of our guests had a very sore ankle so she was riding horses and donkeys most of the way.

In Wadi Rum, my favourite part of the tour was when Dad, Jenelle and I were on the roof of the jeep, and we spotted a camel. We were then allowed to feed it some of our leftover lunch from the roof. I also enjoyed sleeping under the stars and in our tents. For dinner in Wadi Rum, we were fed a traditional Bedouin meal that is buried underneath the sand to cook. Dinner was on the table by 8:30pm compared to our normal 6:30pm dinner. Everyone had an exceptionally fun time and I hope we can go back.
